Ines Rae studied Fine Art at Brighton Polytechnic, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and The University of Leeds where she completed an MA in the Social Histories of Art in 1993. She is currently Senior Lecturer in Photography and MA Fine Art Course Co-ordinator at the University of Central Lancashire.
